Sid Ryan-Eilers’ and my little art-baby is in the world and being seen by the young and young-at-heart! We had a showing at a queer drop-in center last Friday and kids were singing and dancing and wanted autographs. One parent with tears in their eyes said they had “talking points” for their kids in the car. Intergenerational healing has been my goal from the start back in January 2021 and here we are, witnessing it in real-time.

To the many, many of you who have believed in FANCY CAT from the very beginning, who read early drafts, listened to scraps of songs, and supported me in my late-night ramblings about how this has been the single most ambitious thing I’ve ever done, you have my unbridled love and thanks. Thanks also to the many brilliant artists who have seen this gem through from a little-workshop-that-could in November 2021 to those who’ve joined in the final months and brought about its full realization today. But especially to my partners in crime: Sid Ryan Eilers who has made a world directorially and choreographically so beautiful, and without whom Fancy wouldn’t even be a seed in my heart; and Raphael Roter who has created such a luscious musical bath for us all to take and brought my songs to life.
I’m so proud of all of us and so deeply, deeply grateful.
